Medical Recycling

After a closer inspection of hospital procedures, we found ourselves looking closely at the cardiology departments. We found several very interesting pieces of medical equipment that were being discarded after surgery that had a very valuable recycling/refining value. We narrowed the list to four main pieces of material which we thought would have the greatest chance for success inside the medical community.

  1. Electrophysiology (also know as EP) Catheters
  2. Angioplasty Guide Wires
  3. Electrophoresis Electrodes
  4. Crucibles

All of these items contain trace amounts of platinum. Most hospitals throw this away at an alarming rate, or sell it to cut-rate metal brokers who then turn around and come to us for refinement. There is no reason that hospitals shouldn't be recovering more of their investment in these devices.
